Dear Parent/Guardian,
My name is Nancy Muchiri, a proud Kenyan-British who has lived in the United Kingdom for over 25 years. By profession, I am an international lawyer, currently with the Ministry of Justice also a certified counsellor. In addition, I am a registered foster parent here in the UK.
Having worked with young people for many years, I have seen first-hand how challenging it can be for students settling abroad. Homesickness, cultural adjustments, and the need for someone to simply call some nearby for reassurance—even for a minute or two —are realities that many face. Often, parents believe “My child will be fine.” but in truth, it is never that simple.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of fostering children and young adults from Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, Sudan, Caribbean, Liberia, Somalia, and Rwanda . Each experience has reinforced my belief that no student should walk this journey alone. It is this conviction that inspired me to expand my personal efforts into a more structured program under Sahara Eclipse, designed specifically for African students in the UK.
Through community meet-ups, personal mentorship, and a supportive parent network, we are creating a safe and nurturing environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
I warmly invite you to join us in this mission—because when our children feel supported, they not only succeed in their studies, but also flourish in life.
